About Unmagnolia
Unmagnolia is a digital and print magazine I have been running triannually since 2023. I am currently on my tenth issue, which was released at the end of September.
I originally started the project in college because I had a lot of creative friends and wanted a space to showcase all their different types of art, including poetry, photography, digital art, essays, short fiction, and more. Since then, I’ve expanded the project significantly, including submissions from friends, family, and new connections across CT, the country, and as far as India.
Each issue begins as a theme, which I keep pretty general in order to encourage a wide variety of submissions. From there, I compile submitted work and format pieces on each page, learning a lot about graphic design along the way. I’ve expanded Unmagnolia by vending at events across CT, building a network of fellow zinesters.
